Snapshots from the Cal Ripken World Series Major/70 – 2007 and 2008
Cages*Plus was one of the sponsors for the Cal Ripken World Series in 2007 and 2008. This was a lot of fun. The complex is in Aberdeen, MD and is just spectacular. If you ever get a chance, go see it. Cal Ripken and his brother Billy run camps during the summer.
Cal Sr’s Yard
The main playing field is called Cal Sr’s Yard, In honor of their father. It is a replica of Camden yards where Cal played his entire career for the Orioles in Baltimore, MD. The ‘warehouse’ in right field is really a Marriott hotel. A very nice facility. Below are highlights from the 2007 and 2008 Cal Ripken World Series. It was fun to throw out the first pitch for the 2007 All Star game. I tried not to embarrass myself. I got Cal and Billy’s autograph and got to keep the ball! Does your travel team need a cage? A 40′ cage is a good travel size.
