Memorial Day 2016 - Bend, OR

We had a great trip to Bend, OR to check out the Triple Crown Sports Memorial Day weekend tournament. We visited around 10 parks to see how the facilities might work for us setting up a cage and our canopy. We got to see some great baseball for the 10U and 11U. We got to see one of our Nampa, ID teams as well as a Meridian, ID team. Both teams had won all their games while we were there. We couldn't stay for the championship games on Monday, as we had to come home on Sunday. Nampa, ID had a very exciting come from behind win that took "extra innings." Special tournament rules for games ending in a tie after 6 innings were to have a runner on second base, with no outs. This lasted for three extra innings before Nampa finally won. They had tournaments for 9U all the way up to 14U I believe. We also visited some parks in Redmond, OR. Since there were so many teams they had to use parks all over Bend and Redmond. Skyline Park Sports ComplexThe two that stood out to us were the Umatilla Sports Complex in Redmond, OR and the Skyline Complex in Bend, OR. Umatilla had three fields arranged nicely with a concession stand and parking. There were some soccer fields that some teams used to practice while waiting to play. We saw a very nice spot to set up our 40' Wheelhouse Batting Cage and our canopy. The Skyline complex was in a very nice location with a river running nearby and in the trees. A very picturesque location. I've included a picture, that doesn't do it justice. It had 4 fields and a lot of grass for folks to put up chairs and observe.
